Co-Design

What's new

Researchers can add a Co-Design question to any study. During the interview, the participant describes a change to an image stimulus, and Outset generates a revised version in real time. The participant reacts to it and can ask for another revision without leaving the session.

Why it matters

A concept test usually ends with what didn't work. Co-Design captures what participants actually wanted instead, so you leave with a revised concept, not a list of complaints to interpret later.

Used for

  • Product concept testing (reshaped mid-interview as participants describe the change)

  • Marketing creative testing (an ad or campaign asset reimagined on the spot)

  • Packaging design testing (redrawn in real time)

  • Single-screen product or UI feedback (a dashboard, a settings screen, a form)

How to use it

Add a Co-Design question from the guide builder and upload one image stimulus (a screenshot, an exported Figma frame, or a website screenshot). Set how many edit attempts a participant can use, then publish as usual. Co-Design supports static image stimuli today.
