Diary Studies

What's new
You can now run diary studies in Outset. Set up multi-round research with the same participants across days, weeks, or months. Each round runs as a live AI-moderated conversation, with the same probing behavior as an IDI.
Why it matters
Diary entries tend to be shallow when participants can submit and move on. Because each round is a moderated session, the AI catches vague or incomplete answers before the participant closes out, the same way it does in a live interview. Each session also generates an AI summary automatically when it closes, so you can start reading findings after round one instead of waiting until the study ends.
Used for
Tracking how behavior or attitudes shift across multiple sessions over time
Consumer research on product use, purchase habits, or routine behaviors
UX research on feature adoption or onboarding across a multi-week arc
How to use it
Create a new study and select Diary studies as the study type. Set the number of rounds, configure the round schedule, and enable participant reminders. Recruit via Prolific or Respondent directly in the platform. Once each session closes, AI summaries appear automatically in Insights.
